Description
Moscatel do Douro Favaios is a fortified wine produced by Adega Cooperativa de Favaios, located in the Douro region, specifically on the Favaios-Alijó plateau, at an altitude between 550 and 630 meters. It is made from the Moscatel Galego Branco grape variety.
This moscatel stands out for its brilliant golden color and an intense and rich aroma, with floral, citrus (orange, tangerine, lime), honey, and caramel notes. On the palate, it is sweet, velvety, with a taste of honey and fruit jams, balanced by acidity, providing a long and persistent finish. The winemaking includes intense skin maceration, and the fermentation process is interrupted by the addition of wine spirit to preserve the natural sugars.
