Description
Produced from Aragonez and Trincadeira grape varieties, this wine originates from carefully harvested and selected grapes, sourced from vineyards over 30 years old. In these plots, ripening occurs in a balanced and natural way, preserving the full aromatic and expressive potential of the grape varieties.
After harvesting at the optimal ripeness, the grapes are taken to the winery, where they undergo total destemming, rigorous optical sorting, and light crushing. Fermentation is carried out in French oak vats, with controlled temperature, followed by extended post-fermentation maceration, which intensifies structure and complexity.
The wine ages for 18 months in French oak barrels, before an additional period of bottle ageing in the cellars of the historic Cartuxa Monastery.
Not subjected to tartaric stabilization, this wine expresses depth, elegance, and authenticity, exemplarily reflecting the Alentejo terroir and the ancestral knowledge of Cartuxa.
