Description
Burmester was founded in 1730 by Henry Burmester and John Nash, initially dedicated to the grain trade. In 1750, already established in Vila Nova de Gaia, it began exporting Port Wine to Europe and the British Isles. Over the generations, it distinguished itself through excellence and dedication to Port Wine, gaining international prestige. It is recognized as a specialist in tawny ports, although it also produces high-quality Vintage Ports. At the end of the 20th century, it was acquired by the Sogevinus Group, which keeps its centuries-old tradition alive.
