Description
Unlike age-indicated Tawnies (10, 20, 30, 40 years...), this style always states the harvest year on the label. However, it should not be confused with Vintage Port. Colheita must age for a minimum of seven years in oak casks. Still, true complexity, aromas, and refined flavours are only achieved with long periods of ageing — as in the rare case of a 1952 Golden White Colheita, only bottled in 2009, after 57 years in French oak barrels.
